Here, Again
Here, Again - This American Life
This month I felt like taking us back to June 2020. Remember back then, right after the death of George Floyd and protests were erupting nationwide and even worldwide? Remember how we told ourselves not to forget that moment and to keep pushing until real change happened?
Well, I thought why not take a minute to revisit that moment and that emotion. A reminder for us to stay focused.
For podcast club today, we listened from the beginning through Act 1, then jumped to Act 4, and then listened to a bit of Act 3 until it was time for us to break and discuss. Feel free to replicate that approach or just listen straight through.
Suggested discussion questions (if you need something to start the conversation):
Arguably there has been progress since June of 2020 - has there been enough? What have you seen change for the better? What did you think might change faster but hasn’t yet?
If you hadn’t heard the monopoly game analogy previously - did it resonate with you?
Did you find revisiting this content emotional? If so, why do you think that is?
