The Truth About Honesty

The Truth About Honesty

Look we all work with people - either at work, or school, or church, or just at home - and it doesn’t always go perfect. There is often feedback that can be given, and honestly giving feedback is hard. Giving good feedback is even harder. That’s part of what drew us to this particular episode.

But while giving feedback can be hard, not giving feedback can be even more painful in the long run. Hopefully today’s episode can both give you and your crew a few new tips as well as lead to a good discussion about feedback in your specific environment.

Suggested discussion questions (if you need something to start the conversation):

  • Are there times when you’ve held back opinions? Times when you’ve stayed silent and then later realized you should have said something? Thoughts on how we might speak up sooner?

  • Why is it important to think about the audience when giving feedback?

  • Thoughts on the term “feedback sandwich”?

  • What is useful vs. non-useful feedback?
