We lost a legend

Last night we lost a legend, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. As a special tribute we are going off-schedule to bring you a mid-month episode from WNYC Radiolab titled “More Perfect: Sex Appeal” which does a great job bringing to light the fight against gender discrimination and RBG’s critical role in that fight.

Rest in peace, RBG. You did so much for this country and for women around the world.

Suggested discussion questions (if you need something to start the conversation):

  • Were you surprised (like I was) to hear that the constitution itself does not provide protection against sexual discrimination?

  • What do you think about the strategy of “choosing your cases carefully”?

    • Is it the right choice to leave some issues off the table in order to make iterative progress?

    • What did you think of the strategy of turning a presumably male-rights case around beer sales into a case for gender equality?

  • What will you remember most about RBG?
